In this time of pandemic, traveling is limited because of the local lock down. In my case, I was able to get out of my province only once in the whole year and I had to return immediately within 24 hours to avoid being quarantined. Limited traveling made me explore near islands in our province. By doing so, I discovered that there were a lot of islands in our province unexplored. There are many factors that these islands are unexplored such as some islands are private and some islands need a boat ride for at least 30 minutes.
Lately, I was able to explore a very small island called Carol. Some locals called it Carol because they say that the owner of this islet is named Carol. So that’s how this island was named. Very interesting isn’t it?
Camarines Norte is located south east of Manila, Philippines. This province is booming in terms of tourism however because of the Covid 19 pandemic, tourists are not allowed to enter the province unless necessary. This islet named Carol is part of the town of Jose, Panganiban in Camarines Norte. Carol island is not the only island in Jose Panganiban, the truth is, there are many islands just near by Carol.
To be able to reach this petite island, one must ride a boat in the port of Brgy. Larap, Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte. In writing this article, I must admit that I happened to reach the Carol island in somewhat illegal manner. I set foot in the island without the permission of the owner. There were care takers of this island present when I arrived, and they welcomed some selected and few visitors only. The care takers were very kind for allowing me and my companions to see this beautiful island for a brief moment.
The boat ride will on only last 30 to 40 minutes.
Some of the photographs and videos that I took that I believe would summarize how isolated, small and beautiful the island is, are posted below.

The quality of the sand is superb!

the color of the sea is just pleasing to the eye

Snorkling is recommended. However, just what I said, this islet is a private island and asking for permission to enter is a must. The underwater is clear, school of fish can be seen easily. There is a deep lope after a few steps from the sand, so be careful to non swimmer, because water can be deep during high tide.
